The Mostly Mysteries Book Club meets once a month on the 4th Monday of each month except December. We meet at someone's house or at a restaurant during normal times. Currently we are meeting via Zoom.
In 2020 we have read 10 books, all mysteries. Our favorite books so far this year were The Lost Man and Red Planet Blues.
In 2019, we read 10 books (9 mysteries and 1 non-fiction) and attended a lecture by Delia Owens whose book was one of the 9 mysteries. Our favorite books of the year were Where the Crawdads Sing, The Silent Patient and Educated.
Our January 2021 selection is The Given Day by Dennis Lehane.
This beautifully written novel of American history tells the story of two families-one black, one white-swept up in a maelstrom of revolutionaries and anarchists, immigrants and ward bosses, Brahmins and ordinary citizens, all engaged in a battle for survival and power at the end of World War I.
