Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is a community of women who meet the third Sunday of the month to encourage each other, study, pray and serve. Daughters of the King are open to all women of the parish. The emphasis of the Daughters is prayer, service and evangelism. We maintain a prayer list for St. Bede’s and pray for the persons on this list daily. We participate in some form of study that is shared at the meetings. We serve by making sandwiches for Emmaus House each meeting. The order was begun in 1885 by Mrs. Margaret Franklin in New York City. The motto of the Order is:

I am but one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do. Lord, what will you have me do?
