Muriel Hays Diguette has been hanging around the Diocese of Atlanta in a professional capacity since 1996. Along with working in five different parishes, she was the Assistant to the Bishop [Alexander] for five years, 2005-2012. She is an Atlanta native, and was confirmed by Bishop Randolph Claiborne a million years ago, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. At St. Bede’s Muriel has been active in co-facilitating programs such as Just Faith, and Sacred Ground Circle. She formed the Healing Our Racism book group, and more recently the two weekly support groups called Healing Our Divided Country. She has taken the EfM course, and is a member of the Contemplative Living Group. Muriel is the former parish administrator of St. Bede’s, and first served on their vestry a decade ago. She feels ready to serve her parish in this capacity once again. Among the things that give Muriel great joy are good books, baking [and eating!] cookies, writing letters, doing jigsaw puzzles, discussing politics, getting together with her many friends often, and going to Green Bough four times a year on silent retreat. Muriel and her husband, Rick, have lived in Tucker for 38 years and are the parents of two “mostly adulting” children. They share their home with a cat, Rocky, who definitely thinks he’s a dog!
