Raymond Walker III, who served as a seminarian at St. Bede’s from 2017-2018, will be returning to St. Bede’s as he prepares for ordination to the priesthood next summer. Since graduating from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2019, Raymond pursued professional medical chaplaincy training through extended units of Clinical Pastoral Education and, for the past several years – and through the heart of the pandemic, has served as a chaplain at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Healthcare and at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Ordination is now on the horizon for Raymond and the Bishop’s office would like for him to spend another season in a parish other than his sponsoring parish – Holy Trinity, Decatur. Raymond will mainly be with us on Sundays as he continues to serve in his ministry of chaplain at Emory.
