Communications Committee - New Website Planning
The Communications Committee is beginning work on envisioning new directions for St. Bede's website.  The current site does not support mobile devices and takes a person very familiar with website administration to keep up to date.  Committee Meetings will be announced in the eNews.  However, all of our meeting minutes, draft proposals etc. will b stored here on the current website.  To access those click on the following link.

Taizé & Labyrinth - First Sunday of every month at 7:00pm

Taizé & Labyrinth Coming to St. Bede's Sunday May 7th
St. Bede's offers a monthly one hour Taizé service and labyrinth walk on the first Sunday of each month at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall.

The worship of Taizé is marked by depth and simplicity, consisting of much singing along with significant periods of silent meditation.

If you are interested in assisting with this service, please contact Muriel Diguette or Tommie Thompson. There are several simple ways to make a significant contribution to this service for our broader community.

Books, Bible, and Banter
All are welcome in this Tuesday morning study group. Our reading covers a wide range of spiritual, theological, and biblical material, as well as some memoirs and novels. No expertise of any kind is expected or required. The purpose of the group is to engage issues of faith and life in a setting of open and lively conversation. Each session also includes time for prayerful reflection with a passage of Scripture.

The group meets during the school year, twice a month on Tuesdays from 10am to noon. If you are interested please talk with Martha West mtwest "at" or Nina Daniel (ninadmiked "at"
St. Bede's Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a small group that meets monthly for fellowship, knitting and crocheting. We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm to knit and crochet prayer shawls and scarves. All are welcome and we have friends who love to knit/crochet joining us! At the present time we gather at the home of Cheryl Murphy, location may vary.

In the words of Susan S. Jorgensen, co-author of Knitting into the Mystery, the gift of creating and giving away of shawls is an outreach of love and compassion. Below is one of her prayers:

Loving God, we give you thanks for the gift of our hands. Give us the grace to see our hands as you see them, as instruments of grace and life. May the knitting of our hands be the knitting of your heart. Use our hands, O God, to carry out your works of mercy and love. May the shawls our hands create bring blessing to those they wrap in love and healing to those upon whom they rest.

Bible Study
Bible study group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Vestry Room. We follow the school year and take the summer off.  After opening prayer a light meal is served.  We are a self directed group and over the past several years have studied the four Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, Genesis and Exodus.  This season we have concentrated on the Letters of Paul. Any Bible translation may be used and discussion is guided by St. Columba's Method:
  1. What is the passage saying?
  2. Why was it preserved?
  3. What does it mean to me today?
We close with Compline, group members alternating leading that service.  For more information please contact Cheryl Murphy (seamurph73 "at"
